New Delhi. Today is the second phase of voting for Lok Sabha elections 2024. Lok Sabha elections are being conducted in 7 phases. The first phase has been completed on 19th April. The final phase of voting will take place on June 1. Counting of votes will be done on June 4. Know here all the latest updates related to the second phase of Lok Sabha elections. Voting is being held on 88 Lok Sabha seats today for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections. These include 5 from Assam, 5 from Bihar, 3 from Chhattisgarh, 14 from Karnataka, all 20 from Kerala, 6 from Madhya Pradesh, 8 from Maharashtra, 1 from Manipur, 13 from Rajasthan, 1 from Tripura, 8 from UP, 3 from West Bengal. And there is 1 Lok Sabha seat from Jammu and Kashmir. Voting will now be held in Betul, Madhya Pradesh on 7th May. The BSP candidate had died here.

-The second phase of voting will be conducted at 1.67 lakh polling stations. In the second phase, 16 crore voters will elect their MP.
Veteran candidates are trying their luck from these seats
-In the second phase of Lok Sabha elections, veteran candidates are also trying their luck on many seats. There is a contest between Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and CPI’s Annie Raja from Wayanad seat in Kerala. From here BJP’s K. Surendran is also in the field.
-There is a contest between former CM Bhupesh Baghel of Congress and Santosh Pandey of BJP on Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha seat of Chhattisgarh. BSP has made Devlal Sinha its candidate here.
-Karnataka’s Mandya Lok Sabha seat is contested by JDS leader and former CM HD Kumaraswamy and Congress’s Venkatraman Gowda.
Congress’s Shashi Tharoor will face Union Minister Rajeev Chandrashekhar on the Thiruvananthapuram seat in Kerala. Here P. Raveendran from CPI and Advocate Rajendran from BSP are also in the fray.
-There will be a contest on Jodhpur seat of Rajasthan between Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, BSP’s Manju Meghwal and Congress’s Karan Singh Uchirada.
-Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is in the fray from Kota seat. Prahlad Gunjal of Congress and Dhanraj Yadav of BSP are challenging him.
-Dr. Mahesh Sharma of BJP, Dr. Mahendra Singh Nagar of SP and Rajendra Singh Solanki of BSP will contest from Gautam Buddha Nagar seat of UP.
-In Kerala’s Attingal seat, Union Minister V. Muraleedharan, Congress’s Adoor Prakash and CPM’s Advocate V. Joy along with Advocate Surabhi S. from BSP. Are in the electoral fray.
-There is a contest from Rajasthan’s Jhalawar-Baran Lok Sabha seat between BJP leader and former CM Vasundhara Raje’s son Dushyant Singh, Congress’s Urmila Jain and BSP’s Chandra Singh Kirar.
Vaibhav Gehlot, son of former CM Ashok Gehlot, is contesting on Congress ticket from Jalore seat of Rajasthan. BJP’s Lumbaram is standing against him.
-BJP’s Hema Malini is again contesting elections from Mathura seat of UP. Hema Malini is facing Mukesh Dhangar of Congress and Suresh Singh of BSP.
-BJP has made ‘Ram’ of Ramayana serial i.e. Arun Govil its candidate from Meerut seat. In front of him are SP’s Sunita Verma and BSP’s Devvrat Kumar Tyagi.
-Raja Yaduveer Krishnadutt Chamaraja Wadiyar is the BJP candidate from Mysuru seat of Karnataka. M. Laxman of Congress has contested against him.
-BJP’s Tejashwi Surya and Congress’s Soumya Reddy are in the fray from Bengaluru South.
-At the same time, RJD’s Bima Bharti is contesting from Purnia Lok Sabha seat in Bihar. Congress leader Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, who has fielded as an independent, is contesting him. Arun Das from BSP is also in the fray from Purnia seat.
