Odisha’s Chief Electoral Officer Nikunj Bihari Dhal has informed that women voters are more than men in Brahmapur, Koraput, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur Lok Sabha constituencies and 28 assembly constituencies falling in these parliamentary constituencies. The official said that there are a total of 62,84,649 voters in these four Lok Sabha constituencies, of which 31,87,771 are women, 30,96,243 are men and 635 are of third gender. Voting on these seats will be held on May 13, for which the process of filing nominations has started on Thursday.
When are the elections in Odisha?
Lok Sabha elections will be held in four phases for 21 seats in Odisha. At the same time, voting for the assembly elections will also take place in the same number of phases. According to the Election Commission, elections will be held in the state under the fourth phase on 13 May 2024, fifth phase on 20 May 2024, sixth phase on 25 May 2024 and seventh phase on 1 June 2024. The results of the state’s Lok Sabha seats and assembly elections will also be declared simultaneously on June 4.
