London has emerged as the most preferred student city in the prestigious QS Best Student Cities Ranking 2023 in terms of student amenities, university standards and the convenience of overseas students. Seoul and Munich are in second place, followed by Zurich and Melbourne in fourth and fifth place respectively. Every student wants to get all the facilities that are necessary for an ideal student life during their studies. In this year’s QS Cities Ranking, London has succeeded in every parameter and reached the top of the ranking.
On the other hand, if we talk about India, this time Mumbai is on top for Indian students. However, according to the world ranking, Mumbai is also at number 103 in QS based cities. Whereas Bengaluru has found itself at 114th rank in this list. Chennai is on the 125th rank, while the capital Delhi has got the 129th rank. The QS Best Student Cities Ranking gives students independent data about a range of factors relevant to their study decisions. Including the students’ ability, quality of life, university standard and the views of the past students studying in that destination.
QS ranking for 140 cities
The QS ranking is based on 140 cities around the world. The best student city in the Arab region is Dubai, ranked 51st globally. Buenos Aires is ranked 23rd in the world. Globally, students from all over the world come to India to study but their numbers are very limited. This is a small fraction of students from all over the world.
India aims to have 2 lakh foreign students by 2023
According to the All India Survey of Higher Education (AISHE) 2018-19, the number of international students enrolled in Indian universities was just 47,427. India wants to attract 200,000 international students by the end of 2023. This number is more than four times the number of existing foreign students in the country. This is one that may need to be reviewed as it was set before the global COVID-19 pandemic. It has deeply affected the mobility of international students.
