Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s troubles are increasing with the resignation of two more ministers in Britain. Two more ministers resigned from the UK government on Wednesday, AFP news agency reported. He was already under a lot of pressure after the departure of the health and finance ministers.
The two ministers who resigned are Education Minister Will Quince and Sevenoaks MP Laura Trott, whose role is as a minister’s aide in the Department of Transportation. The report states that according to Trott, the government has lost confidence.
Earlier on Tuesday, Health Secretary Sajid Javid and Finance Minister Rishi Sunak resigned from Johnson’s cabinet. The reason behind his resignation was a series of scandals in the Johnson government. However, Johnson quickly appointed former businessman and current education minister, Nadim Zahavi, as his new finance minister. He also transferred Steve Barkley to the Department of Health.
Meanwhile, Johnson is scheduled to attend two ministerial events. He will participate in the Prime Minister’s Questions, a weekly programme, an evidence session with the afternoon liaison committee. The liaison committee said in a statement that discussions on Ukraine and its effects on the UK, rising cost of living and the government’s response to it, are expected to focus on integrity in politics and the rule of law.
