IPL 2024 LSG vs PBKS: Lucknow Super Giants have defeated Punjab Kings by 21 runs in a spectacular fashion. This is the first win for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2024. Batting first, Lucknow team gave a target of 200 runs to Punjab Kings, in response to which Punjab Kings team could score only runs. Shikhar Dhawan played an excellent innings for Punjab Kings. But he could not make the team win.
Shikhar Dhawan’s innings went in vain
Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow gave a good start for Punjab Kings. Both the players made a partnership of more than 100 runs for the first wicket. But young bowler Mayank Yadav put a break on the partnership of 102 runs. As soon as Jonny Bairstow, who was batting well, was out, Punjab Kings’ batting fell apart like a pack of cards. Bairstow scored 42 runs. After Bairstow, no player could show a strong performance. Prabhsimran Singh scored 19 runs, Jitesh Sharma scored 6 runs. Sam Karan could not even open his account. Shikhar Dhawan played an inning of 70 runs. But he could not make the team win.
Mayank Yadav bowled powerfully
Punjab Kings batsmen could not stand the bowling of Mayank Yadav and were out. Mayank Yadav took 3 wickets for 27 runs in his four overs. He proved to be the biggest hero for Lucknow. Apart from him, Mohsin Khan took two wickets.
Puran and de Kock played excellent innings
Lucknow Super Giants had a very bad start. When KL Rahul was out after scoring just 15 runs. Then Devdutt Padikkal was also able to score 9 runs. Marcus Stoinis contributed 19 runs. But Quinton de Kock held one end. Along with Nicholas Puran, he took the team to the big target. De Kock scored 54 runs. Nicholas Pooran batted stormily. He scored 42 runs. In the end Krunal Pandya scored 43 runs. It was because of these players that Lucknow team was able to score big. Lucknow has given a target of 200 runs to Punjab Kings to win.
Sam Curran has taken maximum three wickets in his name for Punjab Kings. He has taken three wickets. Arshdeep Singh has taken two wickets and Kagiso Rabada has taken one wicket. Punjab Kings flopped in front of the batting of Nicholas Pooran and Quinton de Kock.
