Aurangabad, December 6 (IANS)| In a shocking case of honor killing, Maharashtra Police has arrested an 18-year-old youth and his mother for beheading their elder sister with a sharp weapon, then taking selfies and sharing them with friends. Officials gave this information on Monday. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon in Goygaon village of Vaijapur tehsil of Aurangabad. Hours after the gruesome murder, 18-year-old accused Sanket S Mote along with his mother Shobha S Mote, 40, surrendered before the police and confessed to his crime.
Goigaon Police Patil (PP) Suryakant R. Mote, who is part of the probe team, said that the preliminary investigation has revealed a case of ‘honour killing’ as the accused and his mother were furious over the relationship between 19-year-old daughter Kirti and her boyfriend Ajay S Thor. Both residents of the same village had absconded on June 21.The couple returned to the village after about six months after getting married in Alandi, Pune a few days back and some unconfirmed reports revealed that she was pregnant.
On learning of their return, the mother and son went to their house to meet them. Signed a reconciliation, after which she went to the kitchen to make tea and snacks for them.Mother and son followed him to the kitchen, where Shobha Mote grabbed his feet, while his son Sanket beheaded him with a sickle.
