The Supreme Court has directed to conduct the elections of Maharashtra Panchayat and local bodies without OBC reservation. Court has refused to fix 27% OBC reservation in these state elections.
The top court asked the state government and the state election commission not to take any action on the basis of the interim report of the Maharashtra Backward Classes Commission. The court said that this report on backwardness has been prepared without proper study.
