New Delhi. In a tragic incident in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand, a tempo traveller carrying pilgrims fell into a deep gorge, killing 12 people and seriously injuring 8 others. It is being told that there were about 23 passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident. The tempo traveller had left from Noida with the pilgrims towards Srinagar-Badrinath highway. During this journey, the tempo went off the road and fell into a gorge near Rudraprayag.
As soon as the news of the accident was received, police and SDRF rescue teams reached the spot. Several bodies are trapped in the debris due to the accident and rescue workers are trying to remove them. The injured are being rushed to the hospital for immediate medical treatment. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed his condolences on the social media platform X and ordered an inquiry into the incident.

A Tempo Traveller travelling from Noida to Srinagar via Chapata suddenly fell into a deep roadside gorge on the Badrinath Highway near Rudraprayag. The sudden fall caused panic among the passengers, many of whom were elderly. Due to the severity of the accident, the vehicle suffered extensive damage and many passengers were trapped inside. Rescue teams are making tireless efforts to rescue those trapped inside.
After the accident, the local residents immediately informed the authorities. Police and SDRF immediately started the rescue operation.
