New Delhi. Former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, lodged in Tihar Jail since February 2023, is now hoping for bail from the Delhi High Court. Manish Sisodia has applied for bail in Delhi High Court. Manish Sisodia’s application will be heard in Delhi High Court on Friday. Many times before this, the bail application of Manish Sisodia has been rejected from the Rouse Avenue Court. He could not get relief even from the Supreme Court. Manish Sisodia is implicated in the money laundering case of liquor scam. ED arrested him and sent him to jail.
ED has accused Manish Sisodia that when he was the Deputy CM of Delhi, he prepared such a liquor policy which benefited the businessmen and caused a loss of hundreds of crores to the government. ED has also named Manish Sisodia as the main conspirator in the liquor scam case. According to ED, Manish Sisodia had links with businessmen involved in the liquor scam. However, Manish Sisodia has termed all these allegations as wrong. Manish Sisodia says that there was no liquor scam in Delhi and CBI did not find any money related to the scam during the investigation of his house and bank locker.
At the same time, after arresting Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor scam on March 21 this year, ED has told the Rouse Avenue Court, Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court that it has found the money trail of the liquor scam. ED says Aam Aadmi Party received Rs 100 crore bribe from liquor scam. Out of this amount, Aam Aadmi Party spent Rs 45 crore in the Goa assembly elections. ED has also described Aam Aadmi Party as a company under Section 70 of the Money Laundering Act. Now in such circumstances, whether Delhi High Court gives relief to Manish Sisodia or not, it will be known only during the hearing on Friday.
