New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that many startups in the AYUSH sector have proved successful and the market in this sector has grown to Rs.1 lakh 40 thousand crore. The Prime Minister said in his monthly radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’ that six years ago, the market for medicines related to Ayurveda was around Rs 22,000 crore. Due to the popularity of Yoga and Ayurveda all over the world, today its market has increased to one lakh forty thousand crore rupees.
He said that the possibilities in this area are continuously increasing. AYUSH is now becoming a subject of fascination in the world of start ups.
Prime Minister Modi said, “Kapiva is an AYUSH start-up. Its meaning is hidden in its name. In this ‘K’ means – Kapha, ‘Pi’ means – Pitta and ‘Va’ means – Vata. The start up is based on a balanced diet as per our traditions. There is also another startup Nirog-Street, which is a unique concept. Its technology-based platform connects Ayurveda practitioners from across the world directly to the people. This has enabled more than 50,000+ The doctors are connected.”
Referring to other start-ups, he said, “The Prime Minister said that he has named only a few startups but the list is very long. It is a symbol of the young entrepreneurs of the country and the immense potential available in the country.”
He urged all the start-ups in the health sector to make efforts to make whatever portal they create and whatever content they create, in UN recognized languages. This will also give them access to non-English speaking areas.
The Prime Minister said, “We will celebrate World Health Day on April 7. Today, Indian thought, whether it is Yoga or Ayurveda, is becoming more and more inclined towards it. Last week, a yoga program was organized in Qatar. It included 114 countries. The citizens of India took part and set a new world record.”
Referring to Baba Sivananda, he said, “Everyone like me must have been surprised to see the agility of a 126-year-old man and I saw him in the blink of an eye and started bowing down to Nandi Mudra. I also bowed down to Baba Sivanand ji again and again. I saluted many people on social media that Baba Sivananda is more agile than four times his age. Really, Baba Sivananda’s life is an inspiration to all of us. I wish him a long life He has a passion for yoga and leads a very healthy lifestyle.”
