Marathi actress Ketki Chitale has been taken into custody by Thane Police from Navi Mumbai following her controversial post against NCP chief Sharad Pawar. Chitale, who has starred in Marathi serials, had posted a Marathi poem on her Facebook page written by advocate Nitin Bhave, making personal attacks on Pawar’s health issues and his conduct. Kalwa police had earlier in the day registered a defamation case against Chitale which was later transferred to Thane crime branch. Kalamboli Police has detained the actress from her house near DY Patil College. A separate team has been formed to search for Advocate Bhave.
Actually, after Ketki Chitale’s Facebook post, Kalwa resident Swapnil Netake had lodged a complaint with the police in the matter. M Awadh, senior police inspector of Kalwa police station said, “We have registered a defamation case under IPC 505(2), 500, 501 against Ketki Chitale. Besides, the matter has been handed over to Thane crime branch for investigation. Has gone.”
Officials of Navi Mumbai Police took Ketki into custody from Kalamboli and handed him over to Thane Crime Branch for further action. Thane city NCP president Anand Paranjpe has also registered a second case at Naupada police station against Nikhil Bhamre, who had posted similar derogatory remarks against calling Pawar a Gandhi and claimed that another Nathuram Godse was born. is required.
