Mhow. Expansion work for the big line at Mhow railway station will be started expeditiously. The meter gauge line will be removed from platform number one and a bigger line will be inserted, while a new platform will be built near Simrol Road overbridge for meter gauge train.
Western Railway’s DRM Vineet Gupta visited Mhow railway station on Friday afternoon and inspected it. During this, he ordered to start the work after discussing with the officers of other departments regarding the meter gauge line, expansion of platform number one and construction of a new platform. During this, Gupta told that in the coming time, the meter gauge line will be abolished across the country. Under this, the work of laying a big line in Mhow will also be started expeditiously. On platform number one of Mhow, from where the meter gauge Mhow-Omkareshwar rail and heritage train is operated. Soon platform number one will be converted into a broad line and a new platform will be built near Simrol overbridge for meter gauge trains, in which the entrance for traveling passengers will be made near the overbridge. Apart from this, Gupta also inspected the peat line, diesel shed and ordered to expedite the work here. It was also said to remove the constructions which are obstructing the new construction work. Gupta inspected here for about two hours and inquired about the development works. During this, he also ordered for immediate tender for development work.
no one could tell how deep the well is
There is a one year old well near the diesel shed from which water is supplied to the railways. For safety, tin sheds have been built around this well. When Gupta came to know about this shed on Friday, he said that it should be closed, as it is becoming a hindrance in the construction work. When Gupta asked how deep it is, apart from the engineer department present there, not one of the more than 20 officers could tell how deep it is.
