Microsoft has finally announced the closure of its oldest browser, Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer has been working for the last 27 years and finally it will no longer work. Internet Explorer was released in 1995 as an add-on package for Windows 95. After this the company started giving this browser as a free package.
Internet Explorer will not work from June 15. This bridger was used the most in 2003. It was the top browser in 2003 with 95 percent usage but it could not maintain its position and suddenly its user base fell drastically.
After the year 2000, many browsers came in the market and offered great features with better interface, fast internet speed and smooth performance. Gradually, the use of Internet Explorer decreased and it lagged behind rival browsers. It remained just a default explorer and was used to support other browsers.
Microsoft Edge Program Manager, Sean Lindersay said that Internet Explorer will now be available as Microsoft Edge in Windows 10. He added, “Microsoft Edge is faster, more secure and offers a more contemporary browsing experience than Internet Explorer, including one very important thing: support for older and legacy websites and applications.”
Let us tell you that Microsoft had refused to provide new browser features since 2016 and this is the first time that the tech giant has decided to discontinue Internet Explorer.
