How much MSP on which crop?
On the decisions of the Union Cabinet, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, “Today a very important decision has been taken in the Cabinet for farmer welfare. The Cabinet has approved MSP on 14 crops for Kharif crop. The new MSP of paddy has been fixed at Rs 2,300, which is Rs 117 more than the previous MSP. The new MSP of cotton has been approved at Rs 7,121 and for another variety at Rs 7,521, which is Rs 501 more than the previous MSP.”
Farmers will get Rs 2 lakh crore
Announcing the MSP for Kharif season crops, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has informed on the decision of the Union Cabinet that with today’s decision, farmers will get about Rs 2 lakh crore as MSP. This is Rs 35,000 crore more than last season.
Approval for development of new port
The Union Cabinet has approved the development of a new port for big ships at Vadhavan in Maharashtra at a cost of Rs 76,200 crore. Ashwini Vaishnav has said that the capacity of this port will be 23 million TE. Its capacity will be 298 million tonnes. This port is also expected to generate 12 lakh jobs.
Development of Varanasi Airport
The Modi cabinet has approved a proposal of Rs 2,869.65 crore for the development of Varanasi airport and new terminal, runway extension. Apart from this, the cabinet has taken a historic decision by approving India’s first offshore wind power project. These will be 1GW offshore wind projects, each with a capacity of 500 MW (off the coast of Gujarat and Tamil Nadu). This is a huge opportunity for India.

On the decision to develop an all-weather Greenfield deep-draft major port at Vadhavan in Maharashtra, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has said that it will be an integral part of the IMEC i.e. India-Middle East-Europe Corridor. It will be constructed by a joint venture of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority and Maharashtra Maritime Board. It will be one of the top 10 ports in the world.
