India is sending its biggest team till now, will increase the enthusiasm of the players
New Delhi, July 11 (IANS)| Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the contingent of Indian athletes participating in the Tokyo Olympics via video conferencing on July 13 at 5 pm. This interaction with the athletes on behalf of the Prime Minister is an attempt to motivate them before their participation in the Games. The Prime Minister recently reviewed the preparations made to facilitate India’s contingent at Tokyo-2020. He also discussed the inspirational journey of some athletes in the Mann Ki Baat program and urged the nation to come forward and support them wholeheartedly.
Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur, Minister of State in the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Nishith Pramanik and Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju will be present during this program. A total of 126 athletes from India will travel to Tokyo for 18 sports. This is the largest contingent ever to be sent from India at any Olympics. This time India will participate in 69 events across 18 sports. This will be the first time that India will compete in such a large number of different sports separately.
