Jharkhand government minister Alamgir Alam’s PS Sanjeev Kumar Lal and his servant Jahangir Alam have been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team. A total of Rs 35 crore 23 lakh was recovered from their hideouts in the raid that continued till late night. After the recovery of such a huge amount, now Minister Alamgir Alam also seems to be in trouble. According to the information, now ED is preparing to ask the account of this amount from Jharkhand Government Minister Alamgir Alam in this entire matter. Summons may be issued to him soon.
the servant was the caretaker of the money
On Monday, ED had raided the premises of Alamgir Alam’s PS servant and his other close associates. Servant Jahangir Alam has confessed during preliminary interrogation that he was the caretaker of the money collected through commission and bribe, for which he used to get around Rs 15,000 per month. According to the information, Minister Alamgir himself had hired Jahangir at his PS Sanjeev Kumar Lal. The minister’s PS Sanjeev Lal had taken a flat in the apartment for him.
used to fill the shelves with money
According to the information received so far, Sanjeev Lal used to give him a bag of money every one or two days, which he used to fill in the shelves of the flat. ED officials have seized Rs 10 lakh and Rs 2 crore 93 lakh from the whereabouts of another associate. The minister’s PS Sanjeev Kumar Lal had clearly denied that the money received from servant Jahangir’s flat was his. However, after the evidence and Jahangir’s statement, ED arrested him.
PS started fainting again and again
According to reports, when ED interrogated PS Sanjeev Lal, he started fainting again and again. ED has seized several documents which contain details related to transfer-posting. Apart from this, ED has also received a letter written to the Chief Secretary of Jharkhand to register an FIR regarding irregularities in the Rural Development Department. It is believed that instead of taking action on the ED letter, it was leaked and sent to the department officials.
