MP Navneet Rana and her husband Ravi Rana have been sent to jail after being produced in court. Navneet Rana was taken with them by Mumbai Police to Byculla Jail whereas, Ravi Rana has been sent to Taloja Jail. According to the Mumbai Police, sedition sections have been imposed on both the politician couple. At the same time, the Khar police team has so far arrested 16 Shiv Sainiks for creating a ruckus outside the residence of Rana couple.
Mumbai Police has charged Amravati MP Navneet Rana and her husband MLA Ravi Rana with sedition charges for instilling “hatred feelings towards the government” and asked a court on Sunday to ask the couple to find out. Need to inquire as to who else is involved with them in this scheme?
However, the court rejected the request to send the Rana couple to police custody for seven days. The court has instead sent both of them to judicial custody for 14 days. Both have been imprisoned by the police in different jails. According to the information, Navneet Kaur has been sent to Byculla Jail whereas, Ravi Rana will have to stay in Taloja Jail.
The Khar police, which arrested the Rana couple, told the court that the police had issued a notice to the couple not to disturb the law and order situation, but they stuck to their protest plan at Matoshree, the residence of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Significantly, the Rana couple was arrested by Mumbai Police on Saturday evening for reading Hanuman Chalisa at Uddhav Thackeray’s residence.
16 Shiv Sainiks arrested for creating ruckus
At the same time, the Khar police team has so far arrested 16 Shiv Sainiks for creating a ruckus outside the residence of Rana couple. All of them will be presented in the court tomorrow.
