New Delhi. When the Chennai Super Kings team was eliminated from IPL 2024 after losing to Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 18, many people thought that this was MS Dhoni’s last match. Many commentators also seemed angry that the RCB players did not bid him farewell. But everyone knows that Dhoni has not made any such announcement of retirement. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO Kasi Vishwanathan is hopeful that Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be seen playing in IPL 2025.
Dhoni, who led Chennai Super Kings to five IPL titles, had decided to step down from the captaincy a day before the start of this season. After this this responsibility was handed over to Rituraj Gaikwad. Since then there has been speculation that this could be Dhoni’s last season in the tournament. But Kasi Vishwanathan does not believe so.

Kasi Vishwanathan said in response to a question asked on CSK’s YouTube channel, ‘I don’t know. This is a question which only MS can answer. We have always respected MS’s decision. We have left it at that. He said, ‘As you all know, he has always taken his decisions and announced them at the appropriate time. We hope that we will know about it only when he takes the decision.
Vishwanathan said, ‘We are hopeful that he will be available for CSK next year. This is the thought and expectation of the fans and me.’ Dhoni scored 161 runs in 73 balls in IPL 2024 and also took many excellent catches. The IPL mega auction will be held at the end of the year and if Dhoni remains, there is no doubt that CSK will retain him. (Input Bhasha)
