New Delhi: Supreme Court has given big relief to Omar Ansari. In fact, the Supreme Court on Monday granted bail to Omar Ansari, son of late gangster-leader Mukhtar Ansari, in a criminal case registered during the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Let us tell you that this matter is related to the alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct. A bench of Justices Hrishikesh Roy and PK Mishra asked Omar Ansari to appear before the trial court in connection with the case. Let us tell you that on January 25, the Supreme Court had given protection from arrest to Umar Ansari in this case.
Case was registered against 150 people
In fact, Allahabad High Court had rejected the anticipatory bail application of Omar Ansari on December 19 last year. In this regard, on March 4, 2022, an FIR was registered against Abbas Ansari (SBSP candidate from Mau Sadar seat), Omar Ansari and 150 unknown people at Kotwali police station in Mau district. The allegation in the FIR was that in a public meeting at Paharpura Maidan on March 3, 2022, Abbas Ansari, Omar Ansari and Mansoor Ahmed Ansari had called upon the Mau administration to ‘settle the accounts’. According to the FIR lodged, this is a case of violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
