Meerut. To improve the last mile connectivity of Namo Bharat passengers, NCRTC has provided electric bus service at all RRTS stations in Ghaziabad in collaboration with Ghaziabad City Transport Services. For this, bus stops have been designated for these electric buses near the entry-exit gates of RRTS stations. These bus services will be available at designated stops near RRTS stations, with the help of which passengers will be able to travel easily between buses and Namo Bharat trains. Currently, this facility will be available for 7 different routes of Ghaziabad. More than 50 electric buses are being run on these routes.
To avail this facility, passengers can also get information about the routes and time table of these electric buses through the ‘RRTS Connect’ mobile app and the official RRTS website (rrts.co.in). At present, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar and Duhai stations have been integrated with the routes of these electric buses. Along with this, talks are in progress to connect Muradnagar, Modi Nagar South and Modi Nagar North stations with these city buses.
People of Mandola, Loni, Dadri will get convenience
Using these buses, residents of areas like Mandola, Loni, Dadri and Mussoorie etc. can reach their nearest RRTS station and reach major urban centers like Delhi and Meerut in a more convenient way. Apart from this, NCRTC has tied up with Rapido to provide cab services like auto-rickshaws, 2-wheeler bike taxis as well as 4-wheeler cabs etc. at Sahibabad and Ghaziabad RRTS stations towards ensuring last mile connectivity of passengers.
NCRTC is also installing fast EV chargers in the parking areas of RRTS stations to enhance last-mile connectivity. This will increase the use of both electric vehicles and Namo Bharat trains. 17 bus routes have also been identified around Sahibabad, Ghaziabad and Guldhar stations. These routes have also been notified by the UP-State Transport Authority. These routes will make commuting easier for the local residents of Ghaziabad.
