New Delhi. Enforcement Directorate ED’s interrogation of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case does not seem to end. ED has summoned Rahul Gandhi once again today. Rahul has been questioned for about 21 hours in the last two days. On Monday, the ED had sought answers from Rahul on questions for 10 and a half hours. On Tuesday, the investigating agency questioned him for 11 hours. According to sources, Rahul was asked by the ED many questions including transfer of Associated Journals Limited shares to Young India Limited, bank accounts, assets abroad. Rahul is giving answers to these questions for a long time. Because of this the interrogation is going on for a long time.
Rahul was questioned by the ED in two rounds each on Monday and Tuesday. He had gone to the ED office at 11 am on Tuesday. In the middle of the afternoon he left at 2.30 pm. Then around 3.30 pm he reached for questioning and at 12 pm he was allowed to go home by the investigating officers. According to sources, on Tuesday, Rahul asked the ED officers to end their interrogation by taking more time today, but the officers refused to do so and called again on Wednesday. Congress leaders and workers continued to protest even on the second day of Rahul’s interrogation. The police took everyone into custody and released them at night.
Rahul Gandhi was summoned to appear before the probe agency for questioning on June 2. During that time Rahul was abroad and he had asked for another date. His mother Sonia Gandhi was also called for questioning by the ED on 8 June, but on 7 June it was found that Sonia had got corona. Now Sonia Gandhi is admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi for treatment. The ED has called him on June 23. If Sonia does not recover, then this date can be extended even further. According to ED sources, if needed, Rahul and Sonia can also be interrogated by making them face to face.
