New Delhi. In the National Herald case, Congress working president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi seem to be badly surrounded. Enforcement Directorate ED, which is probing this case, is reported to have got all the more evidence. According to sources, Young Indian Limited YIL, a company of the Gandhi family involved in the National Herald deal, continued to receive money from shell companies even after the Supreme Court did not get relief in this matter. After getting the evidence of this, the investigating agency can once again summon Sonia and Rahul Gandhi for questioning. Besides him, YIL CEO and Rajya Sabha MP Mallikarjun Kharge is also expected to be called.
Let us tell you that Sonia and Rahul Gandhi had told the ED during interrogation that the former treasurer of the party and now the late Motilal Vora, was given the task of getting Rs 1 crore from Kolkata-based Dotex company and giving Rs 50 lakh out of it to Associated Journals AJL. did. However, both could not provide any evidence in this regard. According to ED sources, several documents were recovered from the raids on YIL’s office located at Herald House in Delhi. These show that the company continued to receive money from fake shell companies till 2018-19.
Now Mallikarjun Kharge is also likely to be trapped in this case. Kharge was questioned by the ED on Thursday. From him the investigating agency wanted to know why the employees of YIL are not on roll. Whereas, earlier Kharge had told the investigating agency that only employees can give information about the working of the company. Whereas, the ED came to know in the raid that there are probably no other employees in YIL except Kharge.
