Mallikarjun Kharge and Ramdas Athawale
New Delhi: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has come under fire from opposition parties for one of his statements. RPI leader and Union Minister Ramdas Athawale and JDU leader KC Tyagi have cornered him on this statement. Actually, Kharge had said that the NDA government was formed by mistake. PM Modi does not have the mandate… This government can fall anytime… We all should work to make the country strong but our Prime Minister has a habit of not letting things run smoothly…”
You play the role of the opposition
On this, Union Minister of State Ramdas Athawale said, “I want to ask Mallikarjun Kharge that when Manmohan Singh’s government was formed, it was formed with the UPA alliance. The Congress party also did not have a majority at all. People of the INDIA alliance keep saying that ‘the government will not run’, when the UPA government was formed, no such question was raised by the BJP. My advice to Mallikarjun Kharge is that you should play the role of the opposition.
These are curses of Kharge ji, these are not wishes
When KC Tyagi was asked that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge is claiming that this government will not last long, he said that these are curses of Kharge ji, these are not wishes. KC Tyagi also openly responded to the statement being made by the opposition that JDU has demanded the post of Lok Sabha Speaker to remain in the government.
We have not demanded the post of Speaker
He said that generally there is a notion that the party which is in power holds the post of Lok Sabha Speaker. Along with this, there is also a belief that this post is reserved for the bigger constituent party. Neither we nor our leader Nitish Kumar have demanded this post at any stage nor do we have any such thing in our minds. In such a situation, whichever candidate BJP selects for this post, our support will always be with him.
There is no fear of breakup in the alliance
On the rumours being continuously spread by the opposition regarding the NDA alliance, he said that we completely reject any such rumours and all of us JDU allies are feeling good in this alliance and we do not fear any kind of break-up in this alliance.
