Godhra, Major action has been taken on the irregularities in NEET exam (NEET Exam 2024). 5 people including the principal and teacher of the school in Godhra town of Gujarat, where cheating was reported during the NEET exam, have been arrested. They are accused of allegedly helping 27 candidates pass the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Graduate (NEET-UG) by taking a bribe of Rs 10 lakh each from them.
Police said that an FIR was registered on 9 May. In which it was alleged that rigging was done during the NEET exam in Jai Jalaram School of Godhra. Many children were made to pass by cheating. The District Magistrate had received secret information that some people are doing this kind of work for admission in medical college. After this, the candidates appearing in the exam to be held on 5 May were detained.
Seven lakh rupees in cash recovered from Tushar Bhatt
Superintendent of Police Himanshu Solanki said that now 5 people including the school principal and teachers have been arrested. These include Tushar Bhatt, school principal Purushottam Sharma, Vadodara education advisor Parshuram Roy, his associate Vibhor Anand and middleman Arif Vohra. Seven lakh rupees in cash has been recovered from Tushar Bhatt. This person was a teacher at Jai Jalaram School, and was appointed as the deputy center superintendent for NEET in the city.
Cheques worth Rs 2.30 crore received
Solanki said, Vadodara education consultant Parshuram Roy had assured at least 27 of his students that he could help them pass the exam for Rs 10 lakh. During the raid, cheques worth Rs 2.30 crore were recovered from his office. According to sources, out of the 27 students who either paid in advance or agreed to pay money to Roy and others, only three were able to pass the exam.
