This SUV has been fulfilling both the hobbies and needs of the customers of both urban and rural areas of the country. Now Mahindra & Mahindra is preparing to introduce the next generation model of this popular SUV, which is just a few steps away from the launch. Till now Mahindra Scorpio has been spotted during testing on different occasions.
According to media reports, the company’s new Mahindra Scorpio has now reached the final stage, some pictures of which have also gone viral on the internet. Based on these pictures, it can be said that this SUV is coming with many major changes from inside to outside. While there will be changes in its look and design, the company will also make good use of advanced features and technology, which makes it completely different from the current model.
It is also being reported that the company may bring the new Scorpio for sale along with the existing model. This has also been done by Honda Cars India. Honda sells both the fourth and fifth generation models of its famous sedan car City together. Mahindra has been working on its new Scorpio for many years now, and every aspect of it is being closely monitored before its launch, so that there is no scope for performance after launch.
The new Mahindra Scorpio will be bigger in size:
Mahindra introduced the first generation Scorpio in the Indian market in the year 2002, and since then it has been updated several times. But this will be the first time that the design of this SUV is being completely changed. According to the reports, this SUV is coming with a tremendous makeover. Traditional upright styling has been given in it, but the sharp looking headlamp has been decorated with chrome. At the same time, LED projector set-up can also be seen in its top variants, although the lower variants can be offered with halogen lamps.
It gets a multi-slat Mahindra grille which is slightly smaller than the XUV700 and, it gets chrome bits to add to the premium look. The bumper is taller and gets a C-shaped surround for the fog lamp housing, which is given in the form of LED daytime running lamps. It is expected that the fog lamps will be given in the top variant along with the LED unit. That being said, all the body panels are completely new.
In fact, in terms of size, the new SUV is much bigger than the old model. As the spy images reveal, it gets a muscular stance, strong character line, kinks in the window line, side-hinged rear doors and vertical tail-lamps. Its exterior has been given a sporty look, which the youth will definitely like.
Will make the interior crazy:
Although the interior pictures are not very clear in the testing model that has been seen, it is expected that it will be offered with premium features. The most important thing is that front facing seats are being given in all its rows. The dashboard layout of the new Scorpio is similar to that of the now-discontinued Toyota Land Cruiser LC 200. At the center stage is a large infotainment touchscreen that is surrounded by AC vents on either side, and below that is the control panel for infotainment and HVAC.
There are USB ports and power outlets further down the center console, and right next to the gear lever. The new Scorpio will get a digital instrument cluster (in some variants) with separate blower controls and rear AC vents. The redesigned steering wheel, improved premium quality leather seats further enhance the cabin.
Engine Capacity & Power of the new Scorpio:
Mahindra has built the new Scorpio on an updated ladder frame chassis which is also seen in the new Thar. It is believed that this SUV may also share the powertrain from the Thar itself. The new Scorpio is expected to come with 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine options. Both manual and automatic gearboxes are offered by Mahindra on both the engines. Not only this, the all wheel drive system can also be seen in its top variant.
When will it be launched and what will be the price:
The news is coming that the company has started this commercial shoot, so this SUV can be offered for sale in the market soon. At present, no information has been officially shared by the company about this. As far as the price is concerned, it is obvious that the new Mahindra Scorpio coming with new updates and such major changes will be priced higher than the current model. At the moment, it is difficult to say anything about its price. The current model is priced between Rs 13.18 lakh to Rs 18.14 lakh.
