Range concern in electric vehicles is a major concern among automobile buyers, especially in India where the charging infrastructure is yet to gain importance. At the same time, the cost of buying an EV is much higher than the conventional IC engine powered vehicles. Due to which people shy away from buying EVs. Currently, Tata’s Nexon is the country’s best-selling electric car, whose new version or say the version with longer battery range is being worked on by the company, and it has been seen during the recent testing.
The Nexon EV offers a range of 312 km on a single charge, which may sound fine on paper but its real-world range is around 180-200 km. This may be too little for consumers who frequently cover long distance travel in a car or for those who commute long distances on a daily basis. To solve this problem, Tata Motors is updating the Nexon Electric with a bigger battery pack that will offer more range.
Important changes will not be found in the design
In the pictures that surfaced, the body of the car was completely covered. Since no noticeable change can be seen in the photos. It gets the same front design as before with the same Tata’s Humanity line Fox Grille, which is surrounded by dual-beam LED headlamps on each side with integrated LED DRLs. The car’s 16-inch dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels are visible in the pictures.
The spy shots do not reveal the rear of the electric SUV, but it is unlikely that the company will not provide any noticeable changes on the side. As features it will be offered with gizmos like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay enabled, a semi-digital instrument cluster with 7-inch TFT display, auto LED headlights.
