He has been seen sharing the stage with the Prime Minister Nilakshi Saha Sinha on several occasions. He is proficient in various languages. Nilakshi has a strong command over Hindi, English, Bengali and French. Saha has gone on foreign tours on several occasions. He has mastery over 15 languages.
Whenever Prime Minister Narendra Modi goes on a foreign tour, he definitely goes with him. Looking at his efficiency in translation, the Central Government always advocates sending him with the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister himself keeps giving him success on the translation front. Earlier in the year 2018, President Emmanuel Macron visited India, then Nilakshi Saha Sinha was seen with PM Modi. Moreover, she was also seen accompanying the PM during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bangladesh in the month of June. Through his translator capacity, he has also advocated for India in global forums.
An officer of the Ministry of External Affairs or the Indian Foreign Service, who is familiar with the language and culture of the other country, is chosen by the Prime Minister as his translator or interpreter, according to his convenience, so the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the appointment of interpreters from the Ministry of External Affairs. The creation of two posts equivalent to the level of Joint Secretary in the cadre was approved.
