Forbes, the world’s most popular magazine, has released the list of the most powerful women in the world. The name of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is also included in this list. The country’s finance minister is ranked 37th in this list. You would be surprised to know that Nirmala Sitharaman has been ranked in Forbes’ list of the world’s 100 most powerful women for the third time in a row. Not only this, this time Nirmala Sitharaman performed very well in this list, leaving behind US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.
Falguni Nair, the founder and CEO of Nykaa, has also been named by Forbes as one of the 100 most powerful women in the world. He is ranked 88th in the list. Falguni Nair is now the 7th female billionaire in India and the richest self-made billionaire after her company’s stellar debut in the stock market. Besides Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Falguni Nair, Forbes has ranked HCL Technologies chairperson Roshni Nadar at 52nd position. Roshni Nadar is the first woman officer to head an IT company in the country. Forbes has also included Kiran Mazumdar, founder and executive chairman of Biocon, in its list. He is ranked 72nd.
It is worth mentioning that Forbes has ranked Mankeji Scott first in the list of 100 most powerful women in the world. Mankeji Scott is the ex-wife of Jeff Bezos (owner of Amazon Group), the second richest man in the world. Both got divorced in 2019. US Vice President Kamala Harris is second on the list.
