New Delhi. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has written a letter to all the universities of the country saying that now strict legal action will be taken against the use of casteist words. UGC has further said that the university and college administration should take this matter seriously and start taking strict action. After this ultimatum of UGC, in the coming days, if any student calls another student with casteist words, then legal action is certain against him. This action will be taken under the SC, ST Act. Let us tell you that UGC has sought information about this from all the higher educational institutions of the country by July 31.
Be it Bihar or UP or Delhi, Punjab or any university campus in the country, if you belong to the general category and you call the reserved category students using casteist words, then not only will your studies be ruined but you will also have to go to jail. Now, it will be very costly for the unreserved category students to make sarcastic remarks on the reserved category students.
Unreserved category students have to be cautious
Now general category students will not only have to make friends carefully, but will also have to ensure that their friend does not play any pranks with them. It may be noted that during studies in university or college, students often joke with each other and during this, caste-related words like Babhna, Pandit, Dusadh and Bhangi are used by both sides. But, after the new order of UGC, general category students, especially those from Rajput, Brahmin, Bhumihar and Kayastha categories, will have to speak carefully.

UGC has said that if a student from reserved category complains against a student from unreserved category, then the university administration will take immediate action on his complaint. Such cases are often seen in police stations and in fights between elders or in land disputes. But now UGC has issued instructions to all the universities of the country that they should also monitor this in their university campus and if such a complaint is received, the matter should not be hushed up.

Similarly, university employees and teachers teaching in colleges will also have to give an affidavit that they will not call any student by casteist words. Despite this, if any such complaint is received about a teacher, then the case will be registered under the SC, ST Act. For this, first the complaint of the complainant will be investigated by a high-level committee. This committee will also include members of SC, ST and OBC category. If any kind of complaint is received, then information about it will also have to be given to UGC.
