On reaching his parliamentary constituency Sambalpur in Odisha, Dharmendra Pradhan said that on the recommendation of the Supreme Court, re-examination of 1,563 candidates has been ordered. Some irregularities have come to light at two places during the NEET exam.
There is a great need for improvement in NTA
Along with this, the Union Minister said that he assures the students and parents that the government has taken this entire matter seriously. Even the top officials of the National Testing Agency (NTA) will not be spared if found guilty. The Union Minister also admitted that a lot of reforms are needed in NTA. The government is concerned about this. No culprit will be spared, they will be given the strictest punishment.
The re-examination is to be held on 23 June
Let us tell you that the National Testing Agency (NTA) told the Supreme Court on Thursday that the scorecards of 1,563 candidates who got grace marks in the NEET 2024 exam will be canceled. These candidates will be given an opportunity to appear in the exam again. The NEET 2024 re-examination is to be held on June 23, the results of which are expected before June 30.
Hearing in Supreme Court on 8 July
The next hearing in the Supreme Court on the NEET exam scam is on July 8. The court accepted the statement of NTA that an official notification for re-examination for 1,563 students will be issued. Its results will be declared before June 30, so that it can be ensured that there is no hindrance in the counseling starting in July.
