New Delhi. The day of May 11 is recorded with a very special event in the history of the country. On 11 May 1998, the Government of India announced the successful nuclear test at Pokhran. Today, on the occasion of the anniversary of Pokhran nuclear test, Prime Minister August 2, 2021
Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the scientists of the country and their efforts. Apart from this, he also remembered former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on this occasion and praised his political courage. It is worth noting that the day of Pokhran nuclear test is also celebrated as National Technology Day. It started from 11th May 1999.
On this day, which is considered to be a symbol of Space Flying Day, PM Modi tweeted, “On National Technology Day today we express our gratitude to our outstanding scientists and their efforts. Due to his tireless efforts, we were able to succeed in Pokhran nuclear test in 1998. He further wrote that, “We also remember with pride the efficient and brilliant leadership of Atal ji, who displayed outstanding political courage and political acumen.” It is to be known that on this day in the year 1998, India conducted the first successful test out of total five nuclear tests in Pokhran under the leadership of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

After achieving this feat, India became the sixth country to be included in the nuclear-rich countries. Apart from this, India also successfully test-fired India-made Hans-3 aircraft and short-range missile ‘Trishul’ on this day. Both these weapons proved to be a record for the country. Through these tests, India had demonstrated its strength at the international level.
