Rakibul Hasan has won the Lok Sabha elections with the highest number of votes. He got 14 lakh 71 thousand 885 votes, while his rival IUDF leader Badruddin Ajmal had to be satisfied with only 4 lakh 59 thousand 409 votes. Rakibul Hussain, who was a five-time MLA from Samguri in Nagaon district of Assam, was made the candidate by Congress this time.
