Let us inform that after the corona infection in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, dengue and viral had plagued the general public. Their outbreak was not even over yet that Zika virus started spreading its feet. So far the number of infected in Kanpur has reached 105. At the same time, a case had already been reported in Kannauj, due to which the total number of cases has reached 106. The state government is constantly keeping an eye on it.
What is Zika Virus?
Zika virus is spread by Aedes mosquitoes. It is a mosquito of the same species that spreads dengue and chikungunya virus. Zika virus was first identified in Ugandan monkeys in 1947, when it affected people in Africa, Asia, the Pacific Islands, and South and Central America. In 2015-16, the US declared the Zika virus a pandemic.
Several species of Aedes transmit the Zika virus, but the main ones are Aedes albopictus (Asian tiger mosquito) and Aedes aegypti (yellow fever mosquito).
No vaccine has been made yet
The symptoms of this virus are similar to dengue, but this virus is more dangerous than dengue and no vaccine or treatment has been found yet. In many people, its symptoms are not seen and they also get cured, but some people affect badly. You can understand from how dangerous Zika virus is that it can also be spread by mosquitoes, sex, pregnancy and donating blood. The most worrying thing is that this infection can also be spread from infected pregnant mother to her unborn child and birth defect can also be seen in the child born from infected mother. This is the reason why the World Health Organization has instructed pharmaceutical companies around the world to develop a vaccine for this virus as soon as possible which can also be given to pregnant women. From March 2016 till now, not one or two, but 18 pharmaceutical companies around the world are engaged in developing the vaccine for this virus, but so far no one has been successful.
Let us inform that two pregnant women are also included in the total cases of Zika virus in Kanpur. In such a situation, considering the seriousness of the matter, the administration is monitoring the condition of pregnant women and is conducting necessary investigations from time to time. The way Zika virus is spreading after the corona epidemic, in such a situation, the UP government is providing all possible help to the public without taking any risk.
