In this match, under the captaincy of KL Rahul, the Lucknow team defeated Chennai Super Kings by 8 wickets at its home ground and achieved its fourth win this season. CSK got a chance to bat first in this match, after which they scored 176 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Chasing the target for Lucknow, the opening pair of KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock made the match completely one-sided by making a partnership of 134 runs for the first wicket. Lucknow ended this match in 19 overs. After the defeat in this match, Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad said that his team scored 10 to 15 runs less in the match.
Constant loss of wickets cost us dearly
After the defeat in the match against Lucknow Super Giants, Ruturaj Gaikwad said that we ended our innings very well and nothing more can be expected from it. After the power play, we could not carry forward our start well and due to losing wickets at regular intervals, we could not score runs quickly for 14 to 15 overs. Due to continuous loss of wickets we scored 10 to 15 runs less. It is not easy for you to defend this score because of the impact player rule because there is an extra batsman. It was a bit difficult to bat on this wicket during the first innings, but due to dew in the second innings, it became much easier to score runs, in such a situation it would have been much better if we had scored 180 to 190 runs.
We have to try to get wickets in the powerplay
In his statement, Ruturaj Gaikwad also said about the bowlers that the one area we need to improve is taking wickets during the powerplay, because through this you can put the opposition team under pressure. We need to work on this. Now we have to play our next match against Lucknow which will be on our home ground. This time we will go all out, whereas now we have to play 3 consecutive matches at home.
