Srinagar: To eliminate terrorists from Jammu and Kashmir, Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police’s SOG and Paramilitary Force personnel are busy carrying out a major operation in Kashmir these days. This is the biggest operation in the last 21 years. A plan has been prepared to eliminate 55 Pakistani terrorists hiding in the rugged hills and forests. Seven thousand soldiers are searching for these terrorists. More than 3000 soldiers have been sent in this operation, which also includes 500 para commandos. This also includes 200 snipers. The operation is going on on steep climbs at a height of 10,000 feet to 15 thousand feet in the forests. There are more than 500 caves in these areas. All the caves are being checked one by one. The terrorists are divided into different groups of 4-5.

Search for terrorists in these areas

  1. Poonch Sector: Poonch, Surankote, Thanamandi, Rajouri, Nowshera, Sunderbani, Budhal, Reasi and Katra.
  2. Doda Sector: Chenani, Patnitop, Doda, Bhalra, Bhaderwah, Bhalesa, Kishtwar.
  3. Kathua Sector: Samba, Hiranagar, Kathua, Bilwar, Machhedi.

To avenge the martyrdom of 48 soldiers in the last three years, the security forces have started searching every inch of the forest in search of terrorists. The Defense Minister is sending the report of this army operation to the Prime Minister’s Office and the National Security Advisor is keeping a special eye on it. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi is taking every report from the Army Commander and Sixteenth Corps Commander Lieutenant General Naveen Sachdeva on a daily basis. Let us tell you that in this area of Jammu, the Line of Control runs from Poonch to Akhnoor and then the international border starts which is being monitored by the Border Security Force.

Day and night border surveillance

At present, the Indian Army units on the Line of Control are playing an important role in this and are monitoring the border day and night. The Army has everything from night vision devices to drones and modern technology to the latest weapons. Romeo Force has the complete responsibility in Rajouri, Reasi and Poonch. Delta Force is monitoring Doda, Kishtwar and Banihal. That is why a simultaneous operation is being carried out to eliminate these terrorists.

The area of Kathua is under the surveillance of the 9th Corps of the Western Command of the Indian Army. That is why the deployment has been increased on the route of Kathua, Macheri, Bani which is directly connected to Doda through the mountains. In this all-out operation, the Indian Army is searching for the terrorists by cordoning off the area along with the SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police and paramilitary forces on the lines of Kashmir. Along with human intelligence and technical surveillance, the help of drones is also being taken. Especially the mountains are being monitored with night vision devices at night.

High peaks and caves are a big challenge

The biggest challenge in this entire operation is the high peaks and caves. According to the over ground workers and information, the terrorists who have infiltrated from the international border have a large number of weapons. The terrorists have AK 47, M4, Chinese pistol, steel bullets, Chinese grenades, body cameras, mobile phones, I Com radio sets, cash, UBGL. Actually, with the help of these, they first monitor every movement of the army from the peak and then attack by laying ambush. Then they record it in mobile and also use body cameras. They send this to their masters in Pakistan with the help of their over ground workers or by threatening people and taking their Aadhar cards and taking their photos, using their hot spots. So far four over ground workers have been arrested. Interrogation with them has revealed that the terrorists have entered Jammu and Kashmir via Punjab. They are in large numbers. They speak in Pashtun or Urdu. They pay 6000 to 10000 rupees for cooking food each time. They have paid 20-25000 rupees for buying food for themselves. They threaten people by taking their Aadhar cards and photos and say that if they tell the police, they will kill them. They come down from the upper peaks once a week to Gujjar and Bakar Wal and take food from there and go back. They are also doing reconnaissance of army camps and convoys.

For this reason, for the first time, senior officials of Border Security Force held a high-level meeting with the DGP of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the DGP of Punjab. Since the issue was of infiltration from the international border, the security agency gave this exclusive information to India TV in which this possible route was seen. In this, the possibilities of going through Samba or Punjab via Kathua to Doda Badarwa or Reasi were mapped.

There were constant reports of PAFF terrorists

According to the security agency, there were already reports of PAFF (which is an organization of Jaish-e-Mohammed) terrorists in the areas of Jammu and encounters were taking place continuously. But in such a situation, the arrival of 55 terrorists indicates that they have joined hands. They are likely to have weapons like UBGL and due to the height of more than 15 thousand feet, it would not be operationally correct to attack by placing snipers from a helicopter. That is why the Indian Army has given its Para Commando and National Rifle units a free hand to operate along with the Jammu and Kashmir Police SOG and in this, the support of the local people is fully received.

Terrorists entered Jammu with the intention of destabilizing the area

At present, the biggest hurdle in this operation is the steep climb, the over ground workers of the terrorists and their tech savvy along with getting local support. It is also expected that due to the drug syndicate, they have infiltrated in different areas with the help of over ground workers in about 1 and a half months. They want to destabilize the area of Jammu. This is the first time that the Pakistani Army has trained them and then sent them with expensive weapons and 5-10 lakh rupees in cash. These are the commandos of the Pakistani Army or those terrorists who were fighting for Pakistan along with the Taliban, all of them have been sent here. They are experts in climbing mountains and are trained in jungle warfare. They carry out sniper attacks by attaching scopes to their weapons. That is why the biggest operation till date, Operation Sarp Vinash 2.0, has been started to eliminate these 55 terrorists.
