New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that a senior leader of the opposition party had asked him ‘what more remains to be achieved after becoming PM twice’. The Prime Minister said, “The leader does not know that this Modi is made of different elements, the soil of Gujarat has shaped me.”
The Prime Minister was addressing the ‘Utkarsh Samaroh’ virtually in Gujarat’s Bharuch on Thursday. The function was organized after the completion of 100 percent work of four major schemes. These will help in providing timely financial assistance to the needy people.
He said, “One day a very senior leader, a political rival, but I respect those who came to meet me, discuss and resolve some issues. He said, ‘Modiji, what else do you want to do now?’ Has made you prime minister twice. They thought becoming prime minister twice is a big achievement. They don’t know that this Modi is made of different metals, the soil of Gujarat has shaped me.”
The Prime Minister further said that, “It is not enough that I should rest now that what has happened is good. No, my dream is fulfillment. We should move towards 100 per cent coverage. The government machinery should get used to it and Confidence should be created among every citizen.”
The Prime Minister said that in 2014, almost half of the country’s population was deprived of facilities like toilets, immunization, electricity connections and bank accounts.
