Babar Azam smashes century: Pakistan’s struggle continues to avert their defeat in the second Test against Australia. In response to the huge target of 506 runs from the Kangaroos, Pakistan scored 186 runs for two wickets in 78 overs. Meanwhile, skipper Babar Azam has completed his century in Tests after a long time. Babar completed the sixth century of his Test career with the help of 12 fours in 182 balls. His century has come after about 25 months. This is Babar’s third century on Pakistani soil while this is the sixth century overall. Babar has now become the first captain of Pakistan, whose name has been recorded in all three formats.
Babar is leading the team from the front after averting Pakistan’s defeat at the National Stadium in Karachi. During this, Abdullah Shafiq is also supporting him well. There has been a partnership of more than 170 runs between the two batsmen. Babar had earlier completed the 20th half-century of his career and now he has converted it into a century. The Pakistani captain completed his century in the 78th over off Mitchell Swepson, his first Test century since February 2020.
