Islamabad/Dubai: Poverty is a big problem in Pakistan. People are in dire straits due to inflation. Pakistan has accepted that it has left no stone unturned in begging from other countries. Now it is very important to pay attention to what Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said. Shahbaz Sharif said on Thursday that “those days are gone” when cash-strapped Pakistani officials used to go to friendly countries with a “begging bowl” to deal with their financial crisis. Pakistani officials will no longer go to friendly countries with a “begging bowl”. Prime Minister Sharif made this remark during his one-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
‘The bowl is broken’
Pakistan and the UAE have long enjoyed fraternal relations based on religious-cultural similarity. ‘Geo News’ quoted Sharif as saying, “Gone are the days when I used to carry a begging bowl to my friendly countries. I have broken that bowl.” Addressing UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, he said, ”My dear brother, you have supported Pakistan like your great father, like a brother, like a family member. Have done.” However, the UAE President was not present in this program.
PM Sharif emphasized on this
PM Shehbaz Sharif said, “But today I am here in this great country, in this brotherly great country, not to ask for loans but to seek joint cooperation, joint investment.” Sharif said that these cooperation will help investors. There will be mutual benefit. Dividends will be achieved through hard work, modern equipment and skills. PM Sharif stressed the need to promote IT skills to empower the youth, who constitute 60 percent of Pakistan’s population. Sharif also praised the cooperation between UAE and Pakistani companies to digitalize the economy. (Language)
