Islamabad: The government has warned the party of jailed former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan to stop “anti-national activities and propaganda”. The Pakistan government has said that it will crack down on those involved in running anti-national campaigns on social media in an attempt to harm relations with friendly countries.
‘Pakistan is an independent country’
Addressing a press conference, legal affairs spokesperson Aqeel Malik said that the kind of anti-Pakistan activities being carried out by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) abroad is unprecedented, Geo News reported. He said, “Pakistan is an independent country and does not take instructions from any other country. We want friendly relations with all countries.”

Malik alleged that the PTI had hired lobbyists and public relations companies to promote anti-Pakistan campaign in other countries and warned the party that the government would crackdown on those involved in running anti-national campaigns on social media in an attempt to harm Pakistan’s relations with friendly countries.

The report said legal affairs spokesperson Aqeel Malik urged PTI to give up its “anti-national activities and propaganda”. He said that PTI should hold talks with the government on political issues to consider solutions instead of harming the country’s interests at global forums. (Language)
