Pakistan Army spokesman Major General Babar Iftekhar said that the flying object was launched from the Indian side and remained in the air for about three minutes before falling down. He also told that it covered a distance of about 260 km before falling in Pakistan. Pakistani media is calling this object a missile.
Addressing a press conference in Rawalpindi, Director General of Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Babar Iftekhar said that Pakistan strongly condemned the incident and sought an explanation from India.
Giving information to the media on Thursday, Iftekhan said, “At 6:43 pm (Wednesday), a high-speed flying object was spotted flying inside Indian territory by the Air Defense Operation Center of the Pakistan Air Force. The object after its initial flight. Suddenly moved towards Pakistani territory and violated Pakistani airspace and eventually fell near Miyan Channu at 6:50 pm.” He said that there was some damage to civilian property due to the fall of this projectile, but there was no loss of life.
He said the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) monitored the entire flight path of the flying object. According to PAF, this flying object took off near Sirsa (Haryana) in India and its end point was near Mian Channu in Pakistan.
He further said that the PAF has initiated a purpose-built tactical action as per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The flight path of this flying object put many international and domestic passenger flights in Indian and Pakistani airspace, as well as endangering both human life and property on the ground.
