Sabarkantha. A father and daughter died while two children were seriously injured when an electronic device sent in a parcel by an unknown person exploded in Gujarat’s Sabarkantha district on Thursday. Police gave this information. Jitendra Rabri, sub-inspector of Wadali police station, said that the incident took place in Ved village.
The police officer said that the parcel was given by an unknown person. As soon as the electronic equipment was plugged in, it exploded. Jeetu Vanzara (33) died on the spot while three injured girls were taken to Wadali Community Health Center and from there to Himmatnagar Civil Hospital.
He said that Vanzara’s 11-year-old daughter died during treatment in the hospital while the other daughter and niece are being treated.
Assistant Resident Medical Officer Vipul Jani said that the condition of one of the injured girls is critical and she has been kept on life support system (ventilator). A relative of the victim told that the parcel was brought loaded on an autorickshaw. Rabri told that the police is investigating whether the family had ordered any goods.
