Maruti Wagon R Beats Alto: Entry level cars are the most sought after among Indian customers, with the Alto being Maruti’s cheapest car in this segment so far. But now the demand for this small car seems to be decreasing. According to the sales chart report of the month of January, Maruti Alto has reached a very low position from the company’s best selling list and the number one position has been occupied by Maruti Wagon R. Maruti WagonR has become the best selling car not only of the company but of the country.
If we look at the sales figures, the company has sold a total of 20,334 units of Maruti Wagon R in the month of January, which is 18% more than 17,165 units in the same month last year. On the other hand, Swift has been at the second position and during this time the company has sold a total of 19,108 units of this car, which was 17,180 units last year. Maruti Dzire was at the third position with a total of 15,125 units and Alto was the fourth best-selling car with just 12,342 units during this period.
There is a huge decrease in the sales of Alto, the biggest reason for this is that the company has not given it any update for a long time. Its facelift model was introduced in the last year 2019, and now its next generation model is being worked on, which has also been seen during testing on several different occasions.
