PhD In Indore Indore, Naiduniya Rep. The candidates selected in the Doctoral Entrance Test (DET-19) are very upset as the guide does not have a single seat in the subject of Yoga. Candidate research work has not started since two years. Now Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) has decided to hold a meeting of Research Advisory Committee (RAC). Selected candidates are called for interview on Friday. However, this meeting was to be held for ten days. During that time the university had postponed the RAC saying that there is to be some RDC i.e. Departmental Research Committee, in which the seats of Yoga subject may increase. But this could not happen. In the RAC held on March 4, candidates have been called for only four seats.
Actually the university conducted the entrance exam DET-19 in PhD in December 2019. Result released within a month. In Yoga subject 48 out of 80 candidates passed the exam. Due to the arrival of the first wave of Corona, in March 2020, the process related to PhD had to be pushed forward by a few months. Somehow, in July, the RAC was called for some subjects and the course work started. But the candidates got angry due to lack of course work in the subject of Yoga. When the information was extracted, there was not even a single seat in the faculty. After this the selected candidates protested in front of the university officials and said that if there were no seats then why mention about four seats in the advertisement of DET 19.
The officials had no answer to this. From the Vice Chancellor to the Registrar in-charge, everyone who conducted the entrance examination was seen avoiding it. Forcibly the students decided to go to court. As soon as the information was received, the university assured the students. In a hurry, a Board of Studies was formed in the Faculty of Yoga, but now a new controversy arose due to the absence of a guide. Later, the PhD of the scholars was completed under some PhD guides. The meeting was earlier held on February 21 on four seats. But the university postponed the meeting in the hope that the thesis of some researchers had been submitted.
Their RDC was to be done, but the panel that took the viva took it forward. Now the university has once again held a meeting of RAC on March 4, in which the candidates have been called at three in the afternoon. The university has issued notice in the matter.
