Narendra Modi Speech in Lumbini: PM Narendra Modi said in Lumbini, the birthplace of Mahatma Buddha, that without Nepal, even our Ram is incomplete. He said that if Ram temple is being built in India today, then the people of Nepal will also be happy. The people of India have watched with faith for thousands of years. This country is going to preserve its culture. PM Modi said that we have a shared heritage, shared culture and shared love. This is our capital. The stronger it is, the more we can transmit Buddha’s message to the world. The way the situation in the world is being created today, the closeness of India and Nepal will serve the interest of the entire humanity. In this, the faith of both our countries towards Lord Buddha unites in one thread, makes us a member of a family.
The Prime Minister said that Buddha is also enlightenment and there is research. They are thoughts as well as sanskars. Mahatma Buddha is also special because he did not only preach but also made humanity feel enlightened. Certainly he was not born as an ordinary child. He made us realize that sacrifice is more important than attainment. So he wandered in the forests, did penance and did research. After that introspection, when he reached the top of knowledge, he never claimed the welfare of the people by any miracle. He told us the path which he himself had lived.
Why PM Narendra Modi went to Nepal on Buddha Purnima, how global politics will be strengthened by heritage
Modi said – Buddha’s life is a symbol of perfection
Referring to the messages of Mahatma Buddha, PM Modi said, ‘Buddha had said that be your own lamp. Assimilate my thoughts also thoughtfully.’ He said that Mahatma Buddha was born on the day of Purnima and on this day he attained enlightenment at Bodh Gaya and then on this date he attained Nirvana. It was no mere coincidence. This is the perfection of human life. Purnima is the symbol of perfection. Mahatma Buddha rises above geographical boundaries and belongs to all and is for all. I also have a relationship with Lord Buddha. There is also a wonderful and happy coincidence in this.
The special relationship of Mahatma Buddha told from Vadnagar
Vadnagar, where I was born, was a major center of Buddhist learning in ancient times. There are still massive remains coming out there. There are many such cities in India, where people know him as Kashi of that state. You also know from my affinity with Sarnath near Kashi. PM Narendra Modi said that we have to enrich this heritage together. He said that I am glad that the Government of Nepal is cooperating and contributing for the development of Lumbini and Buddha Circuit. He said that the relationship between Nepal and India is as old and unshakable as the Himalayas. Now we have to give the same height to our relationships.
