The university was burnt down 800 years ago
Let us tell you that Nalanda University was burnt down by invaders about 800 years ago. Now efforts are being made to bring it back to its old form once again. When the PM inaugurated its new campus in the month of June, he had also said that ‘flames of fire cannot erase knowledge’. He had also said that Nalanda is not only the renaissance of India’s past, it has the heritage of not only India but many countries of Asia. Then he also visited the 1600-year-old ruins here. The new campus of Nalanda University is located about 20 kilometers away from the old ruins.

The story of Nalanda University is full of pain
Nalanda University was established during the Gupta dynasty. It is said that the ruler of this dynasty, Kumargupta, established it between 425 AD and 470 AD. Many reports claim that in ancient times, about 10 thousand students from all over the world used to come here to study, but later during the Mughal rule, the invaders of the Khilji dynasty not only looted this university but also caused massacre and burnt it down.
