In this episode, on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with the Chief Ministers. This meeting took place through video conferencing. Addressing the meeting, PM Modi explained the reason for the rising oil prices. He said that the oil supply chain has been affected due to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. Due to which the prices of petrol and diesel are increasing continuously. PM Modi also requested the state governments to reduce VAT. He said this during a meeting with the Chief Ministers of many states.

PM Modi further said that, “Maharashtra, West Bengal, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu did not listen to the words of the central government for one reason or the other and the citizens of those states continued to be burdened. I pray that what was to be done in November, now by reducing VAT, you should pass on the benefit to the citizens.
