During his visit to the state, Prime Minister Modi will address all Panchayati Raj representatives across the country from Jammu, attending the National Panchayati Raj Day celebrations. Along with this, the Prime Minister, who has consistently expressed commitment to the development of Jammu and Kashmir, will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects worth more than 20 thousand crore rupees in Jammu and Kashmir. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jammu and Kashmir to participate in the National Panchayati Raj Day celebrations on April 24, 2022 at around 11:30 am and from there address all Gram Sabhas across the country. He will visit the Palli Panchayat of Samba district and inaugurate a 500 kW solar power plant there. With this, the parish panchayat will become the first panchayat in the country to become carbon neutral.
During his visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Banihal Qazigund Road Tunnel built at a cost of over Rs 3100 crore. This 8.45 km long tunnel will reduce the road distance between Banihal and Qazigund by 16 km and reduce the travel time by about one and a half hours. This tunnel will help in establishing all-weather connectivity between Jammu and Kashmir and bring the two regions closer.
Along with this, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for three road packages, the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, being built at a cost of more than Rs 7,500 crore. To make Jammu and Kashmir self-reliant in terms of electricity, Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone of Ratle and Kwar hydroelectric projects on Sunday. An 850 MW Ratle Hydroelectric Project will be constructed on the Chenab river in Kishtwar district at a cost of about Rs 5,300 crore. At the same time, a 540 MW Kwar hydroelectric project will also be built on the Chenab river in Kishtwar district at a cost of more than Rs 4500 crore. Both these projects will help in meeting the power requirements of the state.
From the soil of Jammu and Kashmir, the Prime Minister will also launch Amrit Sarovar Yojana for the purpose of construction, development or rejuvenation of 75 ponds in each district of the country under the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. In order to further expand the network of Jan Aushadhi Kendras in J&K and provide good quality generic medicines at affordable prices, 100 functional centers will be dedicated to the nation by the Prime Minister. These centers are located in the far corners of this union territory.
The Prime Minister will hand over the ownership cards to the beneficiaries under the scheme. He will also transfer the prize money to the Panchayats, who are the winners of the awards given for their achievements in various categories on National Panchayati Raj Day. The Prime Minister will also visit the INTACH Photo Gallery, which showcases the rural heritage of the region.
Since the beginning of the constitutional reforms (after the removal of 370 and reorganization of the state) regarding Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019, the Modi government has been continuously claiming to work for the development of the state and the welfare of the people of the state on a war footing. .
