Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday that 6G service can be started in the country by the end of this decade. He said that efforts have been started from the government for this. 3G and 4G service is available in the country and 5G service is set to be launched in the next few months. In the Silver Jubilee celebrations of TRAI, PM Modi said that in the next one and a half decades, 5G is going to contribute $ 450 billion to the country’s economy and this will accelerate the country’s progress and employment generation. He said that connectivity will determine the pace of development of the country in the 21st century.

He said, “In 21st century India, connectivity will determine the pace of progress of the country. So connectivity has to be modernized at every level. The Prime Minister said that 5G technology is going to bring a positive change in the governance, ease of life and ease of doing business in the country and this will give impetus to progress in agriculture, health, education, infrastructure and every sector. Citing an estimate, he said, “5G is going to contribute $450 billion to India’s economy in the coming one and a half decades.” This will increase the pace of progress and job creation.
There was a time when the identity of the government was made for corruption.
The Prime Minister said that a collective effort is needed for 5G to hit the market at the earliest. He said, ‘A task force has started working for 6G service to be started by the end of this decade.’ Terming 2G as synonymous with desperation and despair, Modi hit out at the previous governments and said that it was known for its era of corruption and policy paralysis. After this, we have made rapid strides towards 3G, 4G, 5G and 6G. These changes happened very easily and transparently and TRAI played a big role in this.
PM Modi launches 5G test bed
The Prime Minister also released a postage stamp on the occasion and also launched a 5G test bed developed as a multi-institution collaborative project by a total of eight institutions led by IIT Madras. Congratulating the research scholars and institutions associated with this project, he said, ‘I have got the opportunity to dedicate my own, self-made 5G test bed to the nation. It is also an important step towards self-reliance of critical and advanced technology in the telecom sector. Modi said that the country’s own 5G benchmark has been made in the form of 5G, it is a matter of great pride for the country and it will play a big role in bringing 5G technology to the villages of the country.
