The Congress was earlier against the quota in the 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament and assemblies. Now it has decided to support separate quota for OBC and SC-ST in it. So this is a U-turn of Congress. OBC category voters are the largest in the country. The Congress high command is now playing a political gamble to woo him. Let us tell you that most of the voters of OBC and SC-ST category have been kept by BJP in its side. In such a situation, the Congress is feeling that the burglary done by wooing these sections can open the doors of the party’s fortunes again.
Apart from this, the Congress has also proposed to keep women, OBC, SC-ST and minorities in the number of 50 percent at every level in the party organization.
