Voting for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 is underway. Voting is going on on eight seats in Maharashtra. Meanwhile, a pleasant picture has emerged from a polling station in Amravati. A young man took out time to vote on his wedding day and after voting at the polling booth, he also inspired everyone to cast their vote. The groom’s family members were also present along with him. After voting, Akash said that both the things are necessary, but he did not get time to vote in the evening, so he came in the morning.
“The wedding ceremony is important, but voting is also important. The wedding is to be held today at 2 pm,” a groom named Akash said after voting in Vadapura in Maharashtra’s Amravati Lok Sabha seat. For this reason Akash decided to vote before the wedding ceremony.
94 year old grandmother also voted
A 94-year-old grandmother also came to vote in the violence-hit northeastern state of Manipur. The Election Commission has facilitated home voting for people above 85 years of age, but the violence in Manipur has affected thousands of families and a large number of people live in temporary camps run by the government. In such a situation, it was not possible to provide the facility of voting at home. There was violence in Manipur during the first phase of voting on April 19. Re-polling had to be conducted in 11 polling stations.
Voting on 88 seats in the second phase
Voting is taking place on a total of 88 seats in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections. Earlier, voting was to be held on 89 seats in 13 states, but due to the death of Bahujan Samaj Party candidate in Betul, Madhya Pradesh, voting will be held in the third phase here. There are 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra and voting is going on in the second phase on eight of these seats. Voting is taking place here in Buldhana, Akola, Amravati, Wardha, Yavatmal-Wasim, Hingoli and Parbhani seats.
